This fund provides a generous, annual distribution to support its various music programs and presentations. This is a permanent fund with a never-ending horizon, providing the beauty of music in our community today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
Mary Jane and Richard Weeks Fund for Youth Music
Mary Jane and Richard Weeks Fund for Youth Music is a specific fund that supports youth programs delivered by the Fallbrook Music Society. These programs encourage young musician’s performances and their various needs meant to sustain their love of music and performing into adulthood
scholarships / HIGHER EDUCATION FUNDS
Legacy maintains a variety of general and specific scholarship funds to support graduates of Fallbrook Unified High School, helping launch their dreams, goals, and aspirations of achieving a higher education. Some of these scholarships emphasize criteria that include achievements in athletics/team sports, GPA scores, community volunteering, student leadership and, in one particular instance, a commitment to achieving a degree in engineering. Our country honors and celebrates the veterans who have sacrificed so much to support our freedom. A variety of organizations in our local area support veterans through different tiers of assistance such as K-9 Guardians who provide both emotional and physical support animals, Warrior Village Project with housing needs, or CSUSM with specifically created education needs. Additional agencies are part of our approved list of entities supporting Veterans. The beauty of the Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow, and De Luz region is treasured by many. Protecting the views, trails, wildlife and open space is of utmost concern for those living in these communities and beyond, building upon a deep desire to preserve the area for future generations to enjoy. The Fallbrook Land Conservancy (FLC) protects more than 3,000 acres of critical habitat for wildlife and various forms of fauna and flora, maintaining open spaces and preserves recreational enjoyment and conservancy education. Through Legacy and under FLC’s oversight is the Red Mountain Defense Fund, Save Our Forest Fund, and the Dinwiddie-Palomares Fund.
Supporting Critical & Urgent Needs
This fund is an outcome of generous giving by Legacy Endowment’s Board of Directors. Their support has been combined with contributions from other individuals who have an deep interest in and affinity for the Fund’s purpose. This is an immediate use, non-endowed Fund that can be used to award special, out-of-cycle grants to nonprofit organizations as a way of advancing their efforts in challenging times especially when adapting or responding to the COVID-19 impact in the delivery of programs and services. The Out Of The Ashes Fund helps individuals and families get back on their feet after a natural disaster, such as a fire, flood, earthquake, etc.

Two local organizations, the Fallbrook Foundation for Senior Care and Fallbrook Senior Center, both maintain endowed funds with Legacy, supporting an array of wonderful programs and services. Additional organizations are also part of our approved list entities who help uplift lives of seniors with specialized care, meals, and social endeavors. All these agencies are helping sustain those living with age-related needs retain their independence and capacities for as long as possible. Five funds exist to benefit organizations that address children, adults, and seniors with intellectual disabilities, developmental and/or learning disabilities, permanent physical restrictions, as well those with autism or spectrum disorder. These organizations help bridge social, cultural, and body limiting barriers that may cause a negative impact on physical health, mental health, family engagement and/or employability. D’Vine Path, Cabin by the Lake, St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center, and the Elisabeth S. Wilson Disabled and Senior Funds help support programs that uplift those living in an ableist society, helping them reach and attain their greatest potential.
